CARAES-NDERA Hospital has mental health nurses who deal with patients that have mental problems. They work under the supervision of the director of nursing and coordinates activities of nurses under his supervision. He participate in diagnosis and treatment plan for patients; providing basic patients needs such administering medication, monitoring for side effects that may be experienced, explain to the family members the patient’s conditions and treatment plan. The hospital has 114 mental health nurses dispatched to CARAES Ndera and its branches of ICYIZERE and Butare.
