Ndera Neuro-Psychiatric Teaching Hospital's Laboratory service plays an essential role in determining clinical decisions and providing clinical information that help in prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and management of mental health diseases, drug monitoring tests across the country and abroad. We do different tests according to clinician needs related to the above mentioned domains. We do different tests according to physicians request within the laboratory scope of services.
The following are the scope of services of Neuro-Psychiatric CARAES Ndera Laboratory:
- Toxicology/Drug of abuse and Therapeutic drug monitoring: Body Dosage of Depakine/Valproic Acid, Lithium, carbamazepine, cocaine, cannabinoids, Ethanol body fluids Concentration
- Liver function tests: (ALAT, ASAT, ALB, GGT…)
- Renal function tests: (Urea, creatinine, Na+,k+,…)
- Endocrinology/Hormones: (T3, T4, TSH, prolactin…)
- Diabetes Screening and related tests :( HbA1, Glucose, ferritin, Iron,) and body fat (Cholesterol, triglycerides)
- Brain damage, Cardiac tests, neural tube defects and other chromosomal abnormalities and prostatic cancer makers (S100, CK-MB, CK, AFP, PSA markers)
- Testing different diseases like Hepatitis B, C, Malaria, and HIV, etc…
- The Hospital Laboratory is also involved in different research activities.
Submission of all results is due to turn around time respect.
