Mental Health and Nursing

Nursing department is meant to make a close follow up of patients every time, different nurses are dispatched to different wards and rooms for proper provision of medication. Psychiatric nurses play a critical role in the health, safety and recovery of our patients in the acute care units and in the recovery units.

Psychiatric nurses are assigned a caseload of patients and provide direct care to their patients, which includes facilitating social and emotional needs, supervising medication schedules and evaluating patient progress. They collaborate with psychiatrists, clinical psychologists and a variety of interdisciplinary professionals to determine and provide the best possible care for their patients.

Psychiatric nurses also do psycho-education about mental illness with the families of patients, to help them create a supportive environment to help patients transition back into the family and community.
