CARAES Butare, established in 1978 as a branch of Ndera Neuropsychiatric Teaching Hospital, is located in Huye District, Southern Province, and mainly serves patients from the Southern and Western provinces of Rwanda. The inauguration was presided over by the Director General, accompanied by other hospital officials.

Private rooms for patients
A dining hall for the women’s crisis ward
An administration block, which has the Office of Director, Secretary, Cashier, Accountant, Quality Improvement, the Pharmacy, dispensing and store
