DIRECTOR GENERAL URGES STAFF TO STRIVE FOR EXCELLENCE AS THE HOSPITAL CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL LABOUR DAY 2022

This Friday, May 06, 2022, at Ndera Neuro-Psychiatric Teaching Hospital was held a ceremony to celebrate International Labour Day 2022, under the theme: “The future of work, our shared agenda.”

The event was attended by staff and management of the Hospital, and was presided over by Brother Charles Nkubili, the Director General of Ndera Neuro-Psychiatric Teaching Hospital. The purpose of the day was to recognize the importance of the workers in the development of the institution and the country in general.

This occasion was also an opportunity to recognize the best employees voted by staff from all services. The nominees, who were all recognized with prizes, are; Mrs. Claudine Mukamuganga from Icyizere Psychotherapeutic Center, Dr Thierry Baguma from CARAES Butare, Ms. Christine Mukantwali from the Administration and Finance Department, and Mrs. Marie Josephine Nyambazande from Mental Health and Nursing Department. The overall winner was Dr Thierry Baguma.

Dr Baguma expressed gratitude to those who chose him and other nominees, he added: “This shows that you always value our work. As you all know, everybody’s work here demands sacrifice.”

Mr. Jean Claude Musabyimana, the Director of Administration and Finance, delivered the remarks to inform the achievement of the Hospital in the last year, the state of the Hospital workforce and their contribution to the achievement of the hospital goals. He also delivered the message from the Ministry of Public Service and Labour for all workers during the Labour Week.

He thanked the Director General for allowing the celebration of the international day at the hospital, also reporting to him the suggestions from the staff members.

Director General Br. Charles Nkubili congratulated the best performers, and encouraged all staff members to do their best to provide quality services. “All of us should strive for excellence,” he said.

Br. Charles provided all updates on the recently published Prime Minister’s instruction determining the organizational structure of Ndera Neuropsychiatric Hospital and Level Two Teaching Hospitals. “It is a very significant step for our hospital,” he stated.
