Guide to Arriving at Ndera Hospital

Patient Billing

We are committed to providing excellent mental healthcare services and improving the lives of patients with psychiatric and neurological conditions. Ndera Neuropsychiatric Teaching Hospital accepts various health insurance schemes, including Community-Based Health Insurance (Mutuelle de Santé). However, some services, such as the private hospitalization ward, do not accept insurance. 

We work closely with patients and their families to agree on the most cost-efficient care that meets clinical needs. For any questions about billing, please contact +250 788 554 276.

Health Insurance

The hospital accepts various health insurance schemes, including: RSSB/CBHI (Mutuelle de Santé), RSSB/RAMA, MMI, MIS-UR, UAP, MIS-RBA, BRITAM, SANLAM, RADIANT, PRIME, OLD MUTUAL, and EDEN CARE.

Visiting

Family members and friends are allowed to visit patients in the inpatient program at Ndera Hospital. Before planning your visit, please contact Social Services at (+250) 785 647 059 to confirm the visiting hours.

Directions

Ndera Neuropsychiatric Hospital is located in Nezerwa Village, Kibenga Cell, Ndera Sector, Gasabo District, City of Kigali, 17 kilometres from Kigali City Centre, and 2 kilometres from Kigali-Rusumo road. Icyizere Psychotherapeutic Centre is located in Niboye Cell, Niboye Sector, Kicukiro District, on KK357 Street. CARAES Butare is located in Kabutare Village, Butare Cell, Ngoma Sector, Huye District.

Canteen

The canteen, which provides different items for purchase is located inside the main hospital, next to logistics office. The canteen is open seven days a week, from 6:40am-7:00pm. It serves food and drinks to staff and visitors at reasonable price. The patient’s family or friends can pay for tea, snacks or juice, and other items to be served to the patient daily for a specific period.
